At the start of 2016 my goal was to get a medal at the British Outdoor Masters W45 - 49 . The year was tough I went from one niggle to another, hamstring niggles, achillies problems in the summer that stopped me from training for a whole month, to a muscle tweak behind the knee. I learnt a lot about myself and my wonderful new sport.

Really pleased with season overall, I have learnt so much and yet there is still so much more to know! A big thank you to Newport Harriers, my team - TEAM LEWIS for the laughs, encouragement and support and the world's greatest coach Stuart Pearce oh and not to forget Neil Sidney the world's greatest husband :)

I hope my exploits encourage others no matter what your age, young or old to follow your dreams and never be frightened to have a go! There are also plenty of times when I have got smashed but you just have to hang on in there, keep trying and working hard and things will work out. :)

Thanks also so Sinead 'magic hands' Thomson a great sports massage professional and friend. Also Andrew Seary a great physiotherapist who has proved invaluable in identifying injuries and giving me a programme of strength, flexibility and treatment to recover quickly. Another learning curve is to have regular sport massage as maintenance and to get niggles seen to early. Looking forward to next season!
