Coach Stu and I meet up to talk about my plans and goals for next year. I tell him my main target for next year is to reach the European Masters Final in 2017.

I have done a bit of research on previous championships times and feel I will need to achieve around 13.4 for 100m Coach feels this is achievable but clearly not easy. Last season I ran a pb of 13.89 slightly wind assisted 2.1m/s instead of the allowable 2m/s...

I reflect on this time and feel that if I hadn't had my niggles I would have hoped to be in the 13.7s last season, however this may be optimistic of me!!

Anyway Coach Stu is highly supportive of my ambition and effort levels. He says he will give me my own personal plan to help me achieve this. He wants to me to start to introduce some easy 15 minute or so recovery runs in the mornings in the week. I know some of the others do this, he says it will help clear me legs on the days we have track sessions. It will be interesting to see how this works. I do not actually enjoy running!! However I am motivated and Stu's coaching and plans have been brilliant so far.

I also discuss my flexibility which I believe has improved since I joined harriers. I want to build on last year so agree I will add in at least one pilates session and one fitness yoga a week and see how/if this also helps.

I am really looking forward to the first proper winter training cycle that starts tonight, bring it on!
