Athlete of the Month and Club Person of the Month - January 2020

Athlete of the month

January winner - Congratulations to @Ashton Burnett who was our only Senior GOLD medal at the Senior Welsh Champs. He won gold in the 200m and achieved a PB in the 60m

Other athletes nominated were:

Anya Brady – Silver in the u13 1500m indoors & bronze in the 800m

Cerys Davies -U13 Cerys Davies demonstrated outstanding range in the East Wales Indoor Championships on 5th January, competing in 60m hurdles, 800m, and shot put. She produced PBs in all three events. Cerys took East Wales gold in shot and currently lies 3rd on Welsh U13 rankings.

Cam Eley– U15 hurdles Arron Tugwell – U15 sprints Leo Stark - Gold medal in the under 15 boys 1500m at the Senior Champs with a dominate run from the front throughout the race Ceri Griffiths - Gold medal in under 15 girls 1500m at the Senior Champs

Club person of the month

January winner - Congratulations to Kevin Eley for his continuing support to coach athletes, work on the committee and excellent effort in our recent presentation evening

Other nominations:

Katrina French - Kat was called in on the morning of the 4x200 metre relay championships and helped the A team to secure gold medals and break the club record for the event that had stood since 1986. The under 15 girls 4x200 is also commendable. The team of Olivia Gillespie, Madison Paul, Katerina French and Teewah Boateng broke the club record that had stood since 1986. Also the club took third place in the same event, demonstrating real strength in depth in the female junior ranks in sprints
