COMMONWEALTH GAMES NEWPORT: WEDNESDAY 6 SEPTEMBER 2017

We take pride in announcing that a number of members of Newport Harriers were nominated for the Queens Baton Relay: and 5 were selected by to take part in John Frost Square on Wednesday 6 September 2017 The selected athletes are:

Kelley Jones, Charlotte Mitchell, Hannah Morgan, Isabel Davies and Tyler Williams. Three more athletes were selected for the reserve list.

In total the club nominated more than a dozen athletes reflecting the achievements of the athletes over the past couple of years. Newport City Council and Sport Wales selection process was rigorous and there were hundreds of people nominated by sports and voluntary organisations. That have 5 people selected speaks volumes for the work and commitment of the athletes, their coaches and the club.
