Gwent Cross Country League
After two rounds
With two races of the five gone - Cardiff in October and Pembrey in November – form is beginning to emerge.
Harry Dawes’ victory in Pembrey makes him our first U13 Boys race winner since Elliott Hardee in October 2006. Amy Garrod was 2nd in Cardiff in U13 Girls and lies 2nd on the leader board.
Elsewhere on the leader boards we have Tom Garrod 6th U11B, Dylan Evans 10th U11B, Lois Codling 7th U11G, Ceri Griffiths 8th U15G, Lily Williams 9th U15G, Elin Griffiths 6th U17W and Ellie Robinson 3rd U20W.
Newport’s top performing seniors are Abed Teweldebrhan who was 15th in Cardiff, and Chloe Powell, 50th in Pembrey and 34th overall.
Top Masters athlete is Ken Goodger, 26th in Pembrey in M65 age category.
Teams in the medal hunt are our U13 Girls 3rd, U15 Girls 4th, U11 Boys 4th and U15 Boys 4th.
