DOMINANT DISPLAY FROM NEWPORT’S U17 MEN

With the three fastest athletes in the race, Newport dominated the U17 Men’s race from gun to tape. On Leg 1 Remi Adebiyi established an early and decisive lead which was maintained by Jackson Mountford and Spencer Smith, with just 2 seconds separating each of their times.

Our U13 Girls (Lily Williams, Ceri Griffiths, Lily Hart, Alyssa Baker) held the lead for the first two legs but eventually took silver behind a strong Deeside team. We also took silver in the U17 Women's race, with Caitlin Jones holding off a strong chase from Carmarthen, after Ellie Robinson and Bethan Wainwright had established 2nd place.

Our U13 Boys (Leo Stark, Finlay Davies, Isaac Jones, Harry Russell) just missed out on a medal in 4th place. Our U15 Girls (Ashleigh Steer, Elin Griffiths, Emily Wilcox, Antonia Dawes) were 6th, though Elin produced a very strong run on Leg 2.

The U11s were in a straight race. Amy Garrod was 5th, with the team in 4th place. Our top U11 Boy was Theo Phillips (17th), with the team in 7th place.
