WJL Newport Report

Saturday 30th June - Newport

This weekend saw the third match in the Welsh Junior League. The Sun shone brightly on home soil but no shade was in sight. With over 80 athletes taking part, the U13s and U15s blasted out 41 personal bests and a club record was broken.

Fantastic results once again Team Harriers.

Many congratulations to Tiwaah Boateng on breaking the 200m track record, in a time of 26.7 and also now being ranked number one in the UK. You are our U13 athlete of the match.

Our U15 athlete of the match goes to Antonia Dawes, with great success in her multi eventing Antonia gained 2PB’s. In the High Jump (1.40m)75m hurdles (12.7) and overall first place in the 200m with a time of 26.6. Congratulations Antonia.

With so many wonderful performances it made the decision athlete of the match very difficult. After a very long and hot day the team managers and their great support staff were very proud of all the Team.

A massive thank you to all the officials, the supporters and the guys working in the club room made our home match a very successful one. What a great bunch you are 🙂

With three matches to go in our 2018 season the home straight is insight, keep working hard and the rewards will come. See you all in our promotion match in Swindon on the 21st of July
