YDL U15 Team Report

For the second match of the lower age group YDL we headed to a beautiful part of Wales sunny Neath, where we made sure we packed our sun cream and sun hats it was a very hot day especially for all those athletes who came out in force for their events.

It was an impressive day where Newport Harriers finished 2nd overall with an incredible score of 533 points. Athletes who maximised their points came from an amazing field team leading them was Ellie May wainwright who yet again set a new PB in the pole vault following on from Ellie was Amelia Ferris and Morgan French also in fine form where the boys with Samuel breeze, Samuel Davies, Morgan keen Williams and Issac jones. Heading onto the track on fine form we had Erika Jarett, Olivia Reid and Antonia Dawes. It was a very strong inspirational under 15 team and our person of the match goes to poppy Evans-stowell for her debut performance for the club after training only for 3 weeks poppy headed to Neath and did not let anything phase her, she took every challenge set and ran both 4x100m and 4x300m relay and never passing a Batton before in her life but she did it on fine form on the day and we all welcome poppy to our Newport Harriers family congratulations poppy and to all athletes and parents who stood in and helped officiate in the day.
